Linux Error Codes Number on Linux Fedora System

Oplossing What happen when you execute the Linux command, you should receive the out put.  But what happen when there is something wrong with the way you execute the command??? Usually you will receive the standard error massage... for example... the ls command below cannot do the job that ls command should do because of the basiclinuxcommand file does not exist on the current directory.... then the output from the ls -l basiclinuxcommand command below should come from error code number 2 that print No such file or directory ...

 

Command error example:

[root@fedora ~]# ls -l basiclinuxcommand  <-- Linux command example

ls: cannot access basiclinuxcommand: No such file or directory   <-- standard error output

[root@fedora ~]#

 

Find Linux error code number:

To find last error code number... execute command below

[root@fedora ~]# echo $?
