I was able to most of the issues I was having. However, I still have not figured out how to get the LCD brightness working.The solution I found for getting the 1366x768 resolution working was from help.ubuntu.com:
sudo apt-get update && apt-get dist-upgrade wget http://dl.dropbox.com/u/1338581/Gma500/scripts/poulsbo_lucid.sh && bash ./poulsbo_lucid.sh
wiki.ubuntu.com (linked in the previous quote) had a similar but lengthier solution:
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:gma500/ppa && sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install poulsbo-driver-2d poulsbo-driver-3d poulsbo-config
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:gma500/fix && sudo apt-get update
The first solution worked well so far for me. Now I just need to find out how to get the LCD brightness controls working so my retinas don't burn out.
